Reunion News from the class of ‘73

AHS Class of ’73 held its 40th reunion on Saturday, Oct. 19th at The Ranch on W. 6th Street, near their beloved “old” Austin High campus at 12th and Rio Grande.  Classic rock from ’70-’73 and perfect fall weather set the mood for a fun-filled evening of Tex-Mex, cocktails and a picture-perfect view of downtown Austin.  Emails circulating after the reunion reflected how much the class enjoyed reconnecting.  Jerie Messer Lukefar said, “I ran out of time!”  This sentiment was echoed by many, so it appears the Class of ’73 will reconvene in five years rather than waiting for their 50th.  As Randy Smith said, “To those who weren’t there, we talked about you anyway, so you might as well show up next time!”

Members of the Class of ’73 who wish to donate to the class scholarship should either contact Michelle Segall Bassett at msegbassett@yahoo.com or contribute online, designating their donation “Class of ’73.”
