Austin High School Alumni – Austin, Texas

1960s – Austin High splits student body with Johnston High, furthering integration. School choir sings on NBC at Easter and Christmas. Student body splits to create Reagan High. In 1969, over 3,670 students enrolled. School board outlaws candy machines. Anti-draft and anti-Vietnam protests staged at school. Mr. Maroo becomes official mascot.
